21% of Brits would NOT retaliate if attacked

21% of Brits would NOT retaliate if attacked by Nuclear Strike..

According to a poll at YouGov.co.uk, 21% of the respondents said that they would NOT support a nuclear retaliation should the UK come under a nuclear attack.

What would they do? Just accept Britain being hit by nuclear weapons without being prepared to fight back?

60% did say they would support launching a nuclear retaliation in the event of a nuclear attack.  That leaves 19% that didn’t know.

From those who Voted Leave in the EU Referendum,

78% Would support Britain using nuclear weapons in response to a nuclear attack
9% Would oppose Britain using nuclear weapons in response to a nuclear attack

From those who Voted Remain in the EU Referendum,

48% Would support Britain using nuclear weapons in response to a nuclear attack
33% Would oppose Britain using nuclear weapons in response to a nuclear attack

Those answers are interesting, as it shows that those who wished to Leave the EU, are also much more prepared to defend their country, and make the attacker pay.

Whilst a larger number of those who voted Remain in EU would just accept defeat by a nation that attacked with Nuclear Weapons.

The British Prime Minister and the Nuclear Deterrent

The British Prime Minister, Theresa May, was asked whether or not she would ever be prepared to authorise a nuclear strike that could kill 100,000 innocent men, women and children.
Mrs May said that she would, as the whole point of a deterrent is that our enemies need to know that we would be prepared to use it.

27% of Remain voters said she was wrong to say that.
10% of Leave voters said she was wrong to say that.
