Will the Scottish get Independence from UK..
Many people think that Scotland should be Independent, including many English, but how close are they to leaving the United Kingdom?
There have been TWO referendums on this in recent times:
In 1979, when 32.9% of the registered electorate voted FOR Independence
In 2014, when 37.8% of the registered electorate voted FOR Independence
So, the move for Independence appears to be gaining ground, but still not enough.
On the 1st March 1979
1,230,937 voted FOR Independence
1,153,502 voted AGAINST Independence
On the 18th September 2014
1,617,989 voted FOR Independence
2,001,926 voted AGAINST Independence
If we compare the two years figures by vote, we see a different result:
FOR Independence
In 1979 1,230,937 voted FOR Independence
In 2014 1,617,989 voted FOR Independence
The vote FOR Independence increased by 31% during that 35 year period.
AGAINST Independence
In 1979 1,153,502 voted AGAINST Independence
In 2014 2,001,926 voted AGAINST Independence
The vote AGAINST Independence increased by 74% during that 35 year period.
The percentage voting AGAINST Independence is increasing faster than the FOR vote.
