Prince Philip’s uncle was King Constantine I of Greece until 22 September 1922, when he was forced to abdicate.

In 1928, Philip went to school in the United Kingdom, living at both Kensington Palace and Lynden Manor.
Prince Philip joined the Royal Navy in 1939 and served during the Second World War.
