Why Can’t Prince Harry step down from Royal Life?..
Prince Harry is classed as a senior royal, and is therefore not allowed to earn his own income.
This is a statement from Prince Harry:
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have made the choice to step back as senior members of the Royal Family and no longer receive funding through the Sovereign Grant, thereby making them members of the Royal Family with financial independence. (sussexroyal.com/funding)
Other non-senior Royals, who do not carry out official public duties, do not have to abide by that rule, and can have full-time jobs.
Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, daughters of Prince Andrew, and therefore cousins of Prince Harry, are permitted to work, and do not have official public duties.
- Princess Eugenie is a full time Associate Art Director at the London art gallery Hauser and Wirth. (www.townandcountrymag.com)
- Princess Beatrice is the Vice President of Partnerships and Strategy, at Afiniti, a US-based technology company. (afiniti.com/…/beatrice-york).
The question is, why can’t Prince Harry be allowed the same?
Maybe he can, maybe they will sort out a way.
Prince Harry is currently 6th in line to the Throne.
Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie are 9th and 10th in line, they were at position 6th and 7th just a few years ago, and were working at the time.
