200,000 Russian casualties in Ukraine?


Have about 200,000 Russian troops been killed or wounded while fighting in Ukraine?

According to some estimates the Russian losses are at about 500 troops a day.

The Russian invasion of Ukraine began on 24 February 2022, and the number of days involved is:

From : Tuesday, 24 February 2022 to Friday, 28 April 2023 is : 429 days

429 days at an average of 500 casualties per day would result in a total of 214,500.

The Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation (FSB)* reported almost 110,000 casualties by February 2023.

The Ukrainian Ministry of Defence has quoted a figure of 178,820, which is probably a computer generated estimate.

* The FSB is the main successor agency to the Soviet Union’s KGB.
