Is there any difference between “English” and “British” in terms of meaning or usage.
If yes, what is it?

Yes. The term English covers the English people and their language called English.
British covers the three countries; England, Scotland and Wales, and their people and their languages.
English, Scottish and Welsh are all British languages.
