French Citizenship by Birth Rules

Children who were born in France, and have at least one French citizen parent automatically acquire French citizenship at birth.
Children born in France to tourists or other short-term visitors do not acquire French citizenship by virtue of birth in France.
Children who were born in France, to Non-French citizen parents can gain French citizenship at the age of 18, if they have lived in France for at least five years between the age of 11 and 18.
