UK Premium Bond Winners, with Prizes of £5,000 or more, in December 2017..
Having just looked at the December 2017 Premium Bond major prize winners, I was curious about how the older bond numbers were doing, and was surprised at the incidence of winners per year.
Over half the major prizes, in December 2017, were won by Premium Bonds purchased during 2014 to 2017. I wonder if this means that more Premium Bonds are being sold in recent years, as the draw is after all, totally random.

In 2016 it was stated that there are 1.3 million unclaimed prizes worth £53.9 million.
Almost half a million pounds worth of Premium Bonds prizes – including one for £100,000 – remain unclaimed from NS&I customers based in Australia.
In February 2007 a female with a balance of just £6 of Bonds won £100,000 with Bond number 5ET395766. To date this prize remains uncollected.
