UK Election 2024.

Labour have taken victory in the UK General Election in July 2024, with an increase of about 2% of the national vote.

In the last Election (2019) the Labour Party received 32% of the peoples vote, but this has increased to about 34% in this 2024 election.

2024 Top Party Votes:

  • Labour: 9,731,363 votes, 33.7%, up from 32.1%.
  • Conservative: 6,827,112 votes, 23.7%, down from 43.6%.
  • Reform UK: 4,117,221 votes, 14.3%. No previous results.
  • Liberal Democrats: 3,519,163 votes, 12.2%, up from 11.6%.
  • Scottish National Party: 724,758 votes, 2.5%, down from 3.9%.
  • Sinn Féin: 210,891 votes, 0.7%, up from 0.6%.

2024 Election Seat Allocation.

  • Labour with 34% of the votes received 64% of the seats.
  • Conservatives with 24% of the votes received 19% of the seats.
  • Reform UK with 14% of the votes received 1% of the seats.
  • Liberal/Democrats with 12% of the votes received 11% of the seats.
  • Greens with 7% of the votes received 1% of the seats.
  • SNP with 3% of the votes received 1% of the seats.
  • Others with 7% of the votes received 5% of the seats.

Due to rounding effects, the totals do not come to 100%.

The majority of the current Reform UK voters appeared to have backed the Conservatives in 2019.

It is highly feasible that if the Reform party had not been an option, the Conservative party might have had about the same number of votes as the Labour party.

The Conservative and Reform vote, added together, totalled 38% compared to the 34% received by Labour.

The 2024 United Kingdom general election was held on Thursday 4 July 2024 to elect 650 Members of Parliament (MPs) to the House of Commons.
