What Temperature to wash Bed Sheets?
An expert, from Melt Laundry recommends washing your bed sheets at 60°C.
“A hot wash, at 60°C, is the ideal temperature as it will kill the bacteria, germs and fungi that builds up on bed sheets.”
60 degrees celsius = 140 degrees fahrenheit. (Fahrenheit is the USA system of temperature.)
A lower temperature wash leaves some bacteria on your laundry, causing it to smell more quickly.
The Sleep Foundation advises that to maintain good sleep hygiene you should wash your sheets after every 7 nights of use. Normally once a week.
Note: Some special materials must be washed at lower temperature, to avoid damage.
